Jason File is a native New Mexican, seasoned construction professional, and co-founder of File Companies, the parent organization overseeing a portfolio of affiliated businesses. With more than three decades of industry experience, he has played a central role in building and guiding companies known for quality craftsmanship, reliability, and strong professional partnerships throughout the region.
His career in construction began in 1988, working as a summer laborer on job sites within his family’s business, Les File Drywall. During high school and while attending the University of New Mexico, where he studied engineering and business, he continued to develop his skills as a carpenter apprentice. This early blend of hands-on experience and technical training laid the foundation for his leadership in construction and development.
Over the years, Jason has contributed to numerous landmark projects across New Mexico, gaining expertise in project coordination, estimating, drafting, and design. His work can be seen in projects such as the New Mexico Federal Courthouse, Intel Fab 11X, Sandia Casino, and the Santa Ana Star Events Center, reflecting a career defined by precision, dedication, and an eye for quality.
Beyond his professional work, Jason has remained actively involved in supporting the construction industry. He has served on the board of the National Association of Subcontractors since 1999, including a term as president of the local chapter from 2013 to 2014. He has also served as chairman of the Painters and Allied Trades Local Union 823 Health and Welfare Trust Fund and as a board member of the New Mexico Plasterers and Cement Masons Pension Fund Association.
Through his commitment to excellence and long-standing ties to the New Mexico and Colorado community, Jason has helped establish File Companies and its affiliated businesses as respected leaders in construction and development, known for integrity, ingenuity, and dependable execution.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife who is also his best friend—along with their children and dear friends, whose companionship remains a constant source of joy and balance in his life.
